Sugar Mountain NC is widely known, at least regionally, for its Sugar Mountain Ski area located on the slopes of the mountain. Throughout the mountain are several Sugar Mountain Rentals, many of which are Sugar Mountain House Rentals and Sugar Mountain Chalets that are located right near the slopes. As you make your way to the summit of Sugar Mountain NC, which has a top elevation of 5,300 feet, you will notice the enormous development and condo communities located near the summit. Many of these are Sugar Mountain Rentals and the panoramic views that you can see atop these are truly breathtaking. Sugar Ski Resort NC is the largest ski area in North Carolina, as it has a total of 115 skiable acres. The resort is located in the community called the Village of Sugar Mountain, which is found right off of the main highway that leads to Banner Elk, Highway 184. Sugar Mountain Ski area also has the largest vertical drop in the state, which makes it hugely popular among winter sports enthusiasts. People love the Ski Cams located at Sugar Mountain Ski area.

In addition to skiing and snowboarding Sugar Mountain Ski area also offers tubing and ice skating at the resort, which means there is something for everyone. There are numerous places near the mountain and at Sugar Ski Resort itself that offer Sugar Mountain Ski Rentals and Sugar Mountain Snowboard Rentals, and the tubing park at the resort will provide the inner tubes that you use to slide down the tubing hill at Sugar Mountain Ski area.
