Yesterday HighCountryWebCams.com debuted the new Boone Cam - the King Street Boone NC Cam. Located downtown with great views of the Student Recreation Center at Appalachian State University, The Shoppes at Farmer's Hardware, Boone Drug and the many storefronts located on each end of King Street. The camera viewpoint switches every 10-20 seconds to provide multiple shots. This cam is provided through a partnership with the Watauga County Tourism Development Authority and the Mast General Store in Downtown Boone.

As Hurricane Irene approaches the North Carolina Coastal areas, Kenny Griffin, staff tourism meteorologist for Appnet, a North Carolina web design and tourism marketing company who owns grandstrandcams.com, has been monitoring and issuing tourism related advisories on Hurricane Irene since Monday.
