While most think of heavily populated metropolitan areas when they imagine large-scale shopping excursions, we are here to tell you that the High Country town of Banner Elk NC is not without its great places to shop. While the town may not have huge big box stores (and, by the way, we happen to like it that way!) it does have its own unique boutiques and master craft galleries where you can find almost anything you are looking for. Most of the commerce and Banner Elk shops are located in historic, Downtown Banner Elk NC, right beside the campus of Lees-McRae College. Trips to the stores and boutiques in Downtown Banner Elk lead you to Banner Elk Ski Shops that carry the latest ski and snowboard gear in the winter and skate and wake gear in the summers. Also, there are numerous jewelry shops and galleries where you can purchase unique items and works of art. If you shop like us, and don't stop until you get enough, you will more than likely need to refuel at one of the nearby Banner Elk Restaurants and eateries.
