Mount Jefferson NC is a large mountain that overlooks West Jefferson North Carolina and portions of Ashe County NC. The mountain is home to the Mt Jefferson State Natural Area and its summit climbs to an elevation of 4,665 feet above sea level. It is a prominent feature that can be seen from Downtown West Jefferson North Carolina. From atop Mt Jefferson NC you can see regions in Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina in a sea of Appalachian Mountain peaks.
There are two fantastic West Jefferson Golf Courses and Ashe County Golf is a huge pastime for those that visit the area and those that are lucky enough to call it home.
